What I meant was, I don’t think that Gary normally sells HIS reeds, at least that was the impression I got. I did find a couple of other reeds there the last time I went to the shop made by two professional oboe players. They weren’t bad, but I can’t remember the names unfortunately. I’ll have to give them a call and find out.

I’m sorry sr14225 but you seem woefully uninformed. Gary Armstrong Woodwinds carries a large assortment of handmade reeds from various makers around Ontario and they have been for the last decade.

Jim Mason, principal oboe of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, has recently started making reeds for Gary Armstrong Woodwinds. Jim is a great player and reed maker as anyone in the Ontario area already knows. His reeds are definitely worth trying.

Last time I went to Gary Armstrong he sold me a couple of reeds that he made but he doesn’t normally sell reeds. Anyway, I didn’t like the reeds, they were not for me. I’ve yet to try the cane I bought from him.
